Hong Sangsoo retrospective at the Munich Film Museum

Scene from the Tale of Hong Sangsoo film CinemaVom 23.03. 04/15/2012 to show the Munich Film Museum, a complete retrospective of the South Korean director Hong Sangsoo: Thirteen programs with twelve feature films, an episode and a short film. The self-confessed fan of Hong Rudolf Thome is from 06.04. to 9:04:12 in the film museum visits and is chaired by a clock at 21:00 in a film by Hong. At 18:30 the clock will alternate between the Filmmuseum Thome films "The Red Room" (2010) and "Into the Blue" (2012), with Vadim Glowna in his last starring role.

Hong Sangsoo (born in 1960 in Seoul) is with its subtle, intellectual films as a way of "Woody Allen of South Korea." Hong studied in California and in Chicago and spent several months at the Cinémathèque in Paris. His films often deal with the fear of death and occupational failure, of self-pity and neurotic relationships. In the repetition and serial Abwandelung his characters and stories he's like the Japanese director Yasujiro Ozu, on closer inspection, however, can detect a very subtle director. In all his works there are similar characters, and often nearly identical locations, there ensues a loosely woven juxtaposition of tragic and comic scenes.

At festivals and with critics such as Hong's films are "stripped bare by her Bachelors Virgin" (2000) and "Hahaha" (2010) is very popular at the South Korean audience rather limited success. In contrast, European countries, especially in France, they are perceived more strongly than in Hong's home. The films in the retrospective will be shown in the original Korean version with English subtitles.

All titles and dates of the film series, see the program of the Film Museum.

Simple Plan in Barcelona

On March 13, Simple Plan acted with pride at Razzmatazz in Barcelona after having exhausted all entries a month before the concert. And yes, we were there. The truth is that for me, this group is one of the most listened to about 8-9 years ago, at the time of No Pads, No Helmets ... Just Balls (2002) and in that of Still Not Getting Any (2004). It is true that from the third album, and continuing with the fourth-pace changed a bit and that made them lose some of their more punk style fans, but honestly, if you animated time ago and today I would like to recall you felt when listening to songs like 'I'd Do Anything', probably I would have recommended.

For the tour to promote Get Your Heart On! (2011), were brought in as support to We The Kings, an American band labeled as a mixture of power pop and alternative rock who knew how to warm up the engines of the public good. A high point for them is the great cover that made 'The Middle' by Jimmy Eat World.

Thus, the public-mostly female-and nervous, it was time for the five components of Simple Plan jump on stage and what better to do it starting with 'Shut Up'. The truth is that the setlist was not bad, because they knew how to balance the scale playing 10 songs from the first two albums and the rest of the newest. Among the oldest is worth noting 'Addicted', 'The Worst Day Ever', 'Welcome To My Life' or 'I'd Do Anything'. Moreover, the latest chose some pretty successful as 'Loser Of The Year' or 'Can not Keep My Hands Off You'. However, there were times when I did feel in a concert for teens. The group knows what the public are followed and adapted to it, so that the medley of 'Moves Like Jagger' by Maroon 5, 'Dynamite' by Taio Cruz 'I'm Sexy And I Know It' by LMFAO was more than good looking. Obviously, in other times would not have seen this and would have preferred covers of groups that are not heard on FM Radio Flaixbac or Europe, but we will not get so demanding.

Note that in the song "This Song Saved My Life 'fans took banners inspired by the theme filled with satisfaction to congratulate the Canadian-fan club, that's a nice touch! -. Still, a great moment of the concert was his final, in which Pierre Bouvier decided to end playing solo and acoustic 'Crazy' and joining with others later to say goodbye with his legendary 'Perfect'.

In conclusion, I will say that we've all grown up with some groups currently do not hear so often because we have not evolved with them musically. Some people are even ashamed to say that years ago listening to Simple Plan, not that I think it takes to do. I watched the show from the back and no one would bother me or push me and my opinion is that it was a waste of time for anything because I was kind of fun and musically are in top form. Of course, I could not help but feel some nostalgia for the years left behind long ago.

Must be taken seriously Steel Panther, because they do not ultimately themselves. Your - little poetic - these songs are about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll and come without unnecessary metaphors or euphemisms straight to the point. Why did the flower say if it's possible without further ado? Song titles like "It Will not Suck Itself" and "Do You Wanna Do Me" speak for themselves. Both are published in the fall of the way, the title of the album "Balls Out," which managed to place 40 of the U.S. Billboard charts, and even No. 1 on the U.S. charts Comepdy. 2:54 start to make war with 'You're Early'

It seems that this week all international publications have agreed to discuss one of these phenomena early 2012. We're talking about 2:54, a British duo formed by Colette and Hannah Hurlow to release a debut album on 28 May on Fat Possum Records. The song 'You're Early', which you can enjoy in this same entry, it serves as a perfect foretaste of which we are preparing these two discrete, at the same time demolishing, artists.

This LP, which promises an interesting and constant dueling guitars estridante, was produced by Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) and mixed by Alan Moulder great (My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails). In a way it already is apparent when listening to 'You're Early': only two geniuses of alternative rock that could have helped arose a sound so exciting and vibrant. From the intro, which is close to what rockeramente Church to end its overwhelming everything seems to work in the new galaxy 2:54.

We will have to closely follow this feisty couple. Who knows, maybe all the good words we are reading in the media end up staying short after the release of "2:54". I hope everything ends up being so.

Dark, of course, and somehow protective

A tepid Wednesday and a gloomy sky over Munich.
It is leaving shortly after half past four as I did each day, the bare walls of the schoolhouse.
The train slows into the station and I can hear the conversations of all people no longer slow. So I am looking for an artist myself out on my MP3 player I've loaded on it recently out:
 DAN MANGAN.

An enthralling construction going on with the first song "About As Helpful As You Can Be Without Being Any Help At All" button. More relaxed, it then goes off with classical sounds. The following is a soothing, gentle voice. Dark, of course, and somehow feels protective of the song by DAN MANGAN.

Slowly I am beginning to enjoy and unwind. It is not the limping start of the train, which pulls me out of my falling asleep, but a much tougher chorus of the song. I slept through a few songs? No, not in the same song the young man from Vancouver, Canada sounds very strong and crisp. The voice is raspy and short song brings the number one way from the typical songwriter Gedöse.
With every next song on the album "Oh, Future," I am growing more into the CD and start the music by Canadian DAN MANGAN love. Surely it will go several listeners just like me.
find out how you can, if one appeals to the music?
Quite simply, at the following link is an audition for the new album available:
 http://www.danmanganmusic.com/website/music/

The Munich audience happy the bearded singer / songwriter until 18 April. As support is ZEUS, also occur in Canada and provide the Hansa 39 already from 21 clock for emotional and somehow wonderful mood. For only 15 € (advance sale) or 18 € (AK), you can be there.

His current solo choreography "emptiness" is dedicated to his early 2010 deceased aunt, and was by this sudden stroke of fate influenced, for in his dance Marb enters into a mystical communication with his deceased aunt and tried at the same time a fresh start in his relationship with her. It is less about the imitation of this beloved person, but rather a reconstruction of a personal memory and a tribute.

His dancing is understood as a kind of body Marb memory in terms of body-archeology. Live at the piano accompanied the Japanese pianist Masako Ohta dance performance and developed a Japanese-inspired musical metaphor of emptiness.

As already mentioned the subject of his song "Empty" with Marbs beloved deceased aunt. Since childhood, she was there for him, worried about him and gave off a bright, almost childlike humanity. Her sudden death is a shock to him set - an empty set in, from which Marb decided to create a dance piece for them, which focuses on her life and her death.

Marb has dedicated over 20 years, the Japanese Butoh dance, where he has formed in recent years continuously its own style. The Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote of him: "Stefan Marria Marb is certainly one of the most accomplished German exegetes Butoh, a, has long been solved by the study of Japanese models and found to be an individual style."
